Release Premiere: Fever Feel - Less Precious, Pt. IV

Victoria’s Fever Feel have been honing their psych-rock sound that merges with glam and country for over six years. Established by brothers Landon Franklin and Logan Gabert in Calgary, Alberta, the band began touring throughout North America in 2016 delivering their debut album, an impeccable self-titled effort, in 2018.

Their latest endeavour is a five release series entitled Less Precious that began in May of 2019. Described as a series of singles and b-side oddities, the collection was recorded while on the road across North America. The band used what gear they had with them to set up for recording in hotel rooms, lent studio spaces, and any other unusual places they could find.

The Cups N Cakes Network is pleased to be afforded the opportunity to premiere the fourth instalment in this series. The A-Side to this release was recorded at the Bakersfield Hall of Fame while on tour in California. After finishing soundcheck & receiving a tour of the facility, the owners mentioned having the late country star Buck Owen's grand piano stowed away in a small side room. Fever Feel were granted access to record on the famed-instrument. With only an hour until doors, the band set up some microphones and began tracking 'Fisticuffs Jefferson'. The song was later finished in Fever Feel's home studio with additional accompaniment by Ephraim Welle (Clarinet), Jordan Campbell (Trumpet) and Frédérique D. Bouchard (Saxophone). The B-Side is said to be a “Rundgren/Eno” inspired track that features the steady rhythm of a drum machine, and also live drums from Elijah Browning.

The songs are being released this Friday (March 27th) as 'Less Precious, Pt. IV' (digital only) but all five parts will eventually be compiled onto an album titled 'The Less Precious Collection' (digital and physical).
