Two weeks ago we premiered a single called “Real One” from Nature Walk’s debut EP. We explained that this is the new project from Victoria’s Nick Joy (Teenage Wedding, Zuzu’s Petals). Yesterday that debut EP, entitled King Of Wands, was released and today we are pleased to be able to premiere a video for a song from Nature Walk’s forthcoming second EP, Saturn Return.

The video we get to highlight is for the song “Life Lines”, which is a cathartic release of depression and loss. It’s about shedding the past while looking to the future. As one might expect with two back to back EPs, the releases are companion pieces. Joy explains:

“Dualities are at play all over here, the music video is filled with dualities, the two eps are also dualities, one calm, acoustic, peaceful, the other dissonant, electronic, sad. But in each is the other, so we have a yingyang thing going on here. My goal is to eventually blend these things seamlessly into what alchemists call the Rebis or the Taoists call the Tao.”

The video was produced by Mt. Pleasant Collective and directed by Micah Henry and K.Bray Jorstad (who also tackled the cinematography). It stars Nick Joy and Teresa Krottner (Numbing, Teenage Wedding). The idea of dualities are also used within the video. It shows internal struggle on one side (Nick Joy) and external experience (Teresa Krottner) on the other.

Enjoy the video below and stay tuned for more info on the forthcoming EP, Saturn Return.
