Premiere: Lovely Company - "Gentle Guy"

Lovely Company is a Vancouver band that has quickly become a favourite at the Cups N Cakes Network. Born in 2020, the band began over shared meals, drinks, and philosophies about a collaborative project capable of pushing the conventional music norms. They create without musical limitations and at a break-neck speed. They have already released four EPs and an album in their short time as a band!

It was their first EP of 2021, Lost at Sea, that caught our attention (read Matthew’s Quick Pick review), but it was their impressive back catalogue that got us swooning.

I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised (given their Daniel Romano-esque output) that they are announcing their sophomore album is on the horizon. The album is called Tenderness and it’s set for release on April 23rd. It was recorded in their East Vancouver basement studio between November 2020 and March 2021, and is said to be their most authentic and collaborative project yet.
