Premiere: The Sunshiny Daze - Joanie and Eno
Regina’s Christopher Sleightholm is well known as the principal songwriter and front person of Snake River, a band that laces 60s psych pop, hazy stoner jams and twang. They released a record in February called Lost Album that we featured as a “Pick Of The Week,” and now we are pleased to announce more new music from Sleightholm.
This time around, Sleightholm decided to focus the sunshine/psych pop sound of the late 60s and crafted a new project called The Sunshiny Daze. Under this new moniker Sleightholm will release an eleven track album called Clouds Melt Away (out Friday July 23rd) that is a tip of the hat to the blissed-out music of the flower children. The songs have various reference points from the obvious like The Zombies, to the lesser-known work of producer Curt Boettcher’s albums with The Millennium and Sagittarius as well Eternity’s Children.
The Cups N Cakes Network is very excited to share the first single from this project. The song is called “Joanie and Eno” and is a love song/tribute to Sleightholm’s cats. Enjoy the video below (which prominently features Joanie and Eno), and pre-order Clouds Melt Away here.
