Video Premiere: Beach Body - A Million Things (A Man Can Do)
Regina’s Beach Body have been one of our favourite bands in Canada since they came on to our radar with their debut EP in 2017 entitled Plain Life. They followed it up with the equally great Curb Ciggiez EP in 2018. We were beginning to go through withdrawals but luckily, these prairie boys are set to drop a brand new single called “A Million Things (A Man Can Do)”.
The track is very different from what we’ve come to expect from Beach Boy as this new song shifts the band from perfect summer-pop to country-twang. The band actually dubbed themselves The Southside Coyote Boys for this release. The idea to start a country version of the band came up after Beach Body signed a non-compete document that kept them from playing for longer than they like. To skirt the contract, they changed their name to the Southside Coyote Boys and played country covers of Beach Body songs. After jamming their tunes with the twang turned up, they realized they had an affinity for country music. The big question that remains will be, is this a one-off?
“A Million Things (A Man Can Do)”, features pedal steel work by Andy Beisel (Kacy & Clayton, Wolfwillow, The Steve’s, Alley Dogs) and flugelhorn by Dalton Lam (Bears in Hazenmore, Wolfwillow). The video was shot at The Patterson Ranch near Briercrest, Saskatchewan and was directed by Andrew Freedom Parry and created by Munz Media. Watch the video below:
