Video Premiere: Fortunato Durutti Marinetti - Feeling Of Desire

Earlier this month, Pinc Lincolns founder, Daniel Colussi released a single under the name Fortunato Durutti Marinetti. With this singe was the announcement that he’d be doing away with the Pinc Lincolns moniker, choosing to continue making music under this new name instead. When asked about the name change, Colussi said:

“There is no one particular reason to change the name. I do know from an email exchange with Chris Barrows of long running Florida punk band Pink Lincolns that the name of my band does not thrill him. Likewise some dedicated fans of that band have expressed their displeasure with me. But really, at some point during the recording of what would be the next Pinc Lincs album (but which will instead be the first Fortunato Durutti Marinetti album) it just became appealing to me to let go of that humble history. And in observance of Ursula K Leguin I do acknowledge that correctly naming things is important, especially band names.”

Fortunato Durutti Marinetti are prepping their debut album, Desire, for release later this year and today we are pleased to premiere the video for “Feeling Of Desire”. The video was directed by Winnipeg’s Julia Ann Leach and is inspired by Andy Warhol screen tests. According to Colussi, Leach used era-appropriate 8mm film (which she claims to have developed in a basement sink using coffee grounds and egg whites, orange juice and burnt toast crusts). The song features vocals from Sydney Hermant (Hello Blue Roses) and guitar work from Nic Bragg (Destroyer).
