Single Premiere: At Mission Dolores - Crash In The Jungle

At Mission Dolores has already been featured on our list of bands to watch for in 2019 and it is with good reason because they are here to take the world by storm with their second album of 2019.  Following up the release of Cool World, which came out on February 8th, comes a full length with a completely different approach. Last Night Outside Her Apartment was recorded live off the floor at Noise Floor Studio with Jordan Koop (Wolf Parade, The Courtneys) and will be released through Factotum Cassettes & Oddities on May 3rd, 2019.

“Crash In The Jungle” is the first single and the starter track from the forthcoming  LP. The song builds off themes of a planet spinning out of control that were established in the accompanying release, Cool World, setting the tone for the rest of the album. It takes lyrical inspiration from David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” and applies it to a modern world that’s already been there and lost sight of hope. This sentiment is perfectly paired with eerie backing vocals that echo in agreement with the despairingly radiant voice of lead singer Jared Doherty, while rich guitar and keyboard tones shimmer with tremolo before degrading in to nothingness.
