Video Premiere: Crystal Eyes - Peace Forever
Calgary dream rockers Crystal Eyes are preparing for a couple of upcoming Sled Island shows with the release of a music video off of their split EP with Marlaena Moore, called Radical Softness. The idea for this split EP (released by Double Lunch Records) came from a tour embarked upon by Moore and Crystal Eyes celebrating women in music; today, we’re happy to debut the video for “Peace Forever”, the debut track from that EP.
The song is delightful piece of underwater 60’s pop accompanied by a bevy of synths, arpeggiated guitar licks, and Erin Jenkins wispy lead vocal. The video (directed by Mx. Dore) is a fun fit for the song; it matches the laid back aesthetic of the song with a somewhat whimsical storyline involving potions, fairies and fist fights.
Enjoy the video and make sure you catch Crystal Eyes at Sled Island this year. They’re playing the kick-off party, Tuesday at Commonwealth with Thom & the Tomcats, Squids, and NERVNNER, and on Saturday the 22nd at 4 P.M at Tubby Dog with Chris Hauer, HARAHELLS, Raf Wilcot, and LAPS.
