Video Premiere: Science Is Fiction - Awkward Girl

Science Is Fiction began as the basement project of pals Pavan Singh and Kirk Stensrud. In 2018, they decided to make things official and added Blair Lipkind on bass and Matt Anderson on drums to form their power-pop quartet. They released their debut EP, Don't Everybody Thank Me At Once, on September 28th, 2019, and now we get the pleasure of premiering the long-awaited video for “Awkward Girl”.

When asked about the video, Stensrud said:

“We made the video with a bunch of help from our friend Aaron.  He knew some people at The Beach YYC indoor beach volleyball centre, so we took advantage of our access to the facilities and went for an homage to goofy 80's sports rivalry comedies.  We cast my neighbours who had both made acting appearances in a few random films over the years as the 'Awkward Girl' and the ref in order to try to fit in a bit of a romance to match the song lyrics.”
