Video Premiere: The Won'ts - “High Fives & Water Slides”
Regina’s The Won’ts released a wonderful debut in 2019 called Weird Weekend that was full of indie rock gems and helped get them into some of the biggest festivals in Western Canada, including Sled Island and BreakOut West. Today, the Cups N Cakes Network get the honour of premiering the long-awaited music video for “High Fives & Water Slides” from that release. The video was co-directed by Chris Graham & Carl Johnson and edited by Andrew Parry and features a bunch of Regina “skids”.
When asked about the track, the band states:
“The song was precipitated by an offhand comment made by a bartender named Mike at local Regina watering hole O'hanlon's Pub. It's about acceptance and coming to terms with where you are in life, both physically and figuratively and who's along for the ride with you and who's not. It's also about Satan.”
The video comes with the announcement of The Won’ts follow-up to Weird Weekend in the Spring of 2020 as well as a couple hometown shows:
February 22 @ The Exchange in Regina w/ Bombargo
March 7 @ The Heritage Road Hockey Classic in Regina w/ Suncliffs
