Video Premiere: Maya Gulin & Kevin Mnz - "Flowering"

We’ve featured the work of experimental artist Kevin Mnz in the past. Today we are excited to premiere a new project he’s done with Maya Gulin. The two collaborate by exchanging footage and elements of editing among themselves to create experiences in film and sound. Today’s haunting piece is a stand alone single that will set the tone for an upcoming, full-length, visual album that will be entitled Serried Tone and is expected in early 2021.

In regards to this piece, Gulin offers:

“Flowering looks to the place where movement accesses the present, captured from the eye of the past. In finding a place that acknowledges the inescapableness of experience and it’s constantly evolving relationship with the mind as it is exposed to information through the senses, ‘Flowering’ searches to articulate a realm where memory chooses what to see and how to remember.”
