Premiere: Hattie - Losers
Saskatoon alt/grunge artist Hattie has been on the Cups N Cakes radar for awhile. It’s been awhile since we had new music from him, but then earlier this year a new single called “Horoscopes” was released and today we are happy to report and premiere a follow up track called “Losers”.
“Losers” is a driving dark-pop song about a relationship doomed to fail, but too good to give up that was inspired by Hattie’s last run in with heartbreak. It just so happened the split occurred around the same time that he needed a tune for an upcoming recording session with Edmonton based producer Kurtis Schultz, and so… “Losers” was born.
It’s nice to see a return from this great Saskatchewan artist but Hattie hasn’t been in complete hibernation. He has also been busy on his phone as of late, live streaming his odd-ball workout show, #GOTHGYM, regularly from his dark and dimly lit home gym while he interviews guests and musicians from across the prairies on his Instagram (@hattie_tv). His other social media endeavour is a new series of short videos he calls #songwritertips, which are absurdist memes about the silliness and outrageousness of finding lyrical inspiration.
