Premiere: Foyer - Freedom Fictions

The legacy of Vancouver’s Bored Décor continues to live on… Sometimes with beloved local bands, they can be a stepping stone to greater things. That is the case with former members Nikolas L. B. and Neriah Mair who have come together to create a new act called Foyer.

The duo (who morphs into a quartet for live shows with the addition of Eric Campbell and Amanda Stormyr) leans on post-punk influences as a baseline but aren’t afraid to foray into different territories with electronic samples and splashes of noise keeping listeners on their toes.

Their self titled debut will arrive on June 24th via Worldview Records in the form of a four song EP and today the Cups N Cakes Network is very excited to be premiering its first track. The song that pulls influence from new wave and even glam is called “Freedom Fictions” and it’s a driving song that builds and builds before quietly coming to a conclusion, leaving you begging for more.

Check out “Freedom Fictions” below then head over to their Bandcamp page to pre-order the EP. And if you happen to be reading this from Montreal, Foyer are playing a show tonight (May 27th) at Aussenwelt Co. with Whoredrobe and Teenage Witch.
