Film Premiere: Isaac Vallentin - Juma
Nova Scotian songwriter Isaac Vallentin recently released his fantastic album Juma which we adored and covered as a Pick Of The Week with writer Branton Langley stating:
“It took me but a moment to learn there are no lungs large enough to allow one to stay submerged in Isaac Vallentin’s lucid lyrics, nor his captivating vocals, and cinematic compositions. I’m putting myself out there, but I assure you, you will get lost in this alluring album!”
To make the project even more expansive, Vallentin created a video for every track to act as a film. That being said, he’s quick to state that the film is an accompaniment to the songs, not the other way around. This is an album that deserves an immersive listen and today we get to premiere the entire film for those who want to dive even deeper into the world of Juma.
Regarding the film, Vallentin says:
“It was made around where I live, in Pictou NS. My partner Allyson Rousseau did the camera. There is a plot if one pays attention. Everything was figured out on the spot. The whole thing was filmed in two days.”
Please take some time to dive into this fantastic release by watching the film below. And for those lucky enough to be in Halifax on June 30th, Isaac Vallentin will be playing a show at the Carleton.
