Premiere: Marc McLaughlin - I Wish It Were Real
Marc McLaughlin (Weary, Strongboy) is a singer-songwriter from Newfoundland & Labrador who used to make his solo music under the name Bleu. He writes intricate and understated songs that permeate like sunlight through stained-glass. Since moving on from the Bleu moniker, McLaughlin has released one song under his given name and today we are very happy to be premiering the second.
The track is called “I Wish It Were Real” and McLaughlin explains:
“It's about thinking or wanting to be different from the character that is inherently natural to you ... and more like this imaginary version of yourself that’s made up of external pieces. I say ‘imaginary’ though I believe that the character you’ve created or maybe aspire to be… really, that is you.”
Enjoy the song below and keep your eyes open for McLaughlin’s debut EP arriving later this year.
