Video premiere: Howlin' Circus - Innocence
Howlin’ Circus is the brainchild of Toronto based Canadian-Iraqi musician, Jafar Sandouk. The band is a Middle Eastern-inspired psychedelic rock project, and today we’re happy to premiere the video for their latest single “Innocence”. The single is from their much anticipated album Creature, set to be released on October 27th, 2023.
The song takes influence from the Ronettes, and other early rock and roll and motown songs, with a danceable mid-tempo drum beat. Laid overtop is a psych-rock stew of organs, distorted guitars, and shredding lead guitar lines. The video reflects the psychadelic nature of the song, featuring stock footage and notable news footage from the last 20 years with a man dancing with lobster claws superimposed on top. It’s surreal and hilarious, and it gets more and more chaotic as the songs reaches it’s climax.
The video is available to stream below, and will be in wider release tomorrow. You can watch it on repeat to prepare for the release of Howlin’ Circus’ new record Creature, which will be available everywhere on October 27th, 2023.
