Video premiere: pseudo-antigone - comprometida

The Cups N Cakes Network is pleased to premiere the debut single from the newly announced self-titled record by Edmonton hyperpop artist (and former Cups N Cakes writer) pseudo-antigone. The song is called “compremetida”, and the video is a co-production with the folks over at Absurd Collective. The full album will be released on July 26th via Pyric Gestures.

The upcoming album is the follow up to pseudo-antigone’s 2021 debut LP Into the Void of Infinite Sadness (reviewed in May 2021 by Cups N Cakes’ Shaun Lee), and sees the artist continue to push the boundaries of what experimental pop music can be. The record takes musical cues from pseudo-antigone’s on-going gender transition, her frustrations with casual racism, her revisited relationship with Latin American pop, as well as her studies in psychoanalysis. On its technical end, the record marks another step in pseudo-antigone’s maturity as a producer with growing ambitions in production and sound quality.

pseudo-antigone will be release on July 26th via Pyric Gestures, and you can preorder the new album here, and check out the video for “comprometida” below.
