Video premiere: Seulement - Andromède
Mothland has fast become one of the Cups N Cakes Network’s favourite record labels in Canada, and we were as excited as anyone to learn that they’re releasing a follow-up to their first compilation record Sounds From Mothland, Vol. 1, aptly title Sounds from Mothland, Vol. 2. Today, we’re excited to premiere a short film by artist Charles-André Coderre that serves as a music video for “Andromède” by the Montreal based electronic artists Seulement.
The video uses abstract visuals, with Coderre hand developing film in order to incorporate imprints taken directly from plants and apply them to the film. The visuals are a perfect match for “Andromède”; the song makes you feel at times like you’re gliding over the landscape, passively watching it go by. Seulement has a talent for making synthetic sounds feel completely natural, and it gives their music an uncannily organic quality, despite the incredible number of clangs, beeps, and boops that they are able to work into a groove.
Sounds from Mothland, Vol II is out this Friday, July 14th, and can be pre-ordered via Bandcamp now. It’s the perfect introduction to the amazing work being done by Mothland and all of the artists on the label.
