Video premiere: Wolf Willow - Hey Bruce
We here at Cups N Cakes have been huge fans of Saskatchewan country-Western act Wolf Willow for too long to remember, from their 2019 debut And The Leaves Have Turned To Amber all the way to their excellent 2023 release Marv and Stoneface Sing. Today, we’re excited to premiere the music video for one of the catchiest songs from that record, “Hey Bruce”.
Wolf Willow once again nail that perfect balance that all great country songs have, between a downtrodden lyric, and an unbelievably danceable band backing them up. “Hey Bruce” is also the first track to feature Wolf Willow bassist Marv Plotsky on the lead vocal, and his voice brings a Presley-esque swag to the proceedings. The video was shot by Connor Copithorn, and edited by Ava Wild, and features the same droll pessimism, and goddammit, great sense of humour as the song it accompanies.
The video is being released to promote some upcoming shows that we here at the Cups N Cakes Network advise that you not miss.
