Robojom, Aaron Karpinka, NETRVNNER, & Pooched
Robojom - Hollow Body
Winnipeg’s Robojom take a unique approach to channeling rage that is dark and robotic but somehow also fresh and lively. Hollow Body is an album that doesn’t really sound like anything else and it is a great candidate to fill that new music void we all have inside of us.
Aaron Karpinka - Tender Heart
Maybe this album won’t mean as much to someone who isn’t from Saskatchewan, but there is tons of great Saskatoon imagery that would make anyone that’s been there feel a little sentimental. On top of the relatable story telling, Tender Heart has warm tones and super feel-good vibes that are easy to love.
NETRVNNER - Of Might and Magic
Every decade has their own vision of the future and Of Might and Magic is an album that embodies the 80’s version. The swirling and pulsing of the synths act like a transport to a mysterious place beyond our time and comprehension.
Pooched - Tercel
The latest release from Victoria’s own Pooched commemorates a late and great little Toyota and is simply titled, “Tercel”. Now imagine the way that you packed all of your friends into your first car and drove the piss out of it: that is the way that Pooched plays punk rock.
