Lana Winterhalt, Owen Davies, Badge Époque Ensemble, and Altered Dead
Lana Winterhalt - Still
Like a frost-covered window, Lana Winterhalt’s Still changes the way the world looks. Glacial and majestic, it transports the listener to a frozen world where time means very little. This album makes me want to make some hot cocoa, grab a wool blanket, and get cozy.
Owen Davies - “Tall Chairs”
Tall chairs can be tricky: hard to get on, hard to jump off, and hard to move around when you’re sitting on one. Life is tricky. Love is tricky, too. This stuff is hard to do right without looking like an idiot. Just don’t give up.
Badge Époque Ensemble - Future, Past & Present
I don’t strut very often, but Future, Past & Present makes me want to do just that. If you can imagine a 37-year-old dad strutting his way across downtown Edmonton in green Vans that are well past their prime, I think you have the Badge Époque Ensemble figured out.
Altered Dead - Returned to Life
I’d be lying if I said I knew a lot about metal, but I like to believe that I know good music when I hear it. Altered Dead’s Returned to Life is just that. Heavy AF and the singer sounds a bit like Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget.
