Here’s a real trip of an album for you – the self-titled release from Hippie Hourrah, a psychedelic rock band from Montreal. With droning synths, reverberated vocals, and what sounds like a sitar, Hippie Hourrah! is a trance-inducing 13 track release. I wish I could talk about the lyrics, but I don’t understand French.
Echo Beach – Salted
Salted is a Wonder Ball of an album. Echo Beach uses a psychedelic, indie-pop exterior to contain nuggets of wisdom based on social commentary, societal norms, and inequality. Building off these concepts, Salted delivers a record that manages to be danceable, relatable, and thought provoking all at the same time.

Hamilton, Ontario’s ANXIOUS PLEASERS delivers their eponymous debut album, a classic punk powerhouse – quick paced and in-your-face. It’s got screaming, it’s got a heavy guitar, it’s got deep bass, and it’s got a slammin’ set of drums – all of these elements work to create an album designed to kick your ears ass.
Dogme 96 – Counterparts or, the Consistent Ebb & Flow of Love as We Know It
From Victoria-based musician Eric White is his newest release under the moniker Dogme 96. This four track EP is based on the concept of the four seasons, with each song symbolizing spring, summer, autumn, and winter, respectively. Aided by a team of talented artists, Dogme 96 gives us dear listeners a soulful album with a beautiful folk sound.
