Pick a Piper, Rick White, Roo, and Humours

Pick a Piper – Sea Steps

After a three year hiatus, Pick a Piper returns with Sea Steps, a brilliant EP that I can best describe as the efforts of a big heart in an electronic playground. Sea Steps is a soon to be classic through Brad Weber’s creative blend of melody and rhythm.

Rick White Archive – R.I.P. Mike – Monkees covers (March98)

As an auditory memorial to Mike Nesmith of The Monkees, Rick White releases a trilogy of Monkees covers from his musical archive. Recorded in March of ’98, Rick White takes these classic tunes and gives them a punk-y, contemporary twist. It’s a blast from the past to hear 20 year old covers of 50 year old songs.

Roo – Blooming, Glooming (Part I)

Hailing from Lunenburg, Nova Scotia is the emo-bard Roo, and ‘fumbling through the dark while looking for a light’ is the theme of Blooming, Glooming (Part I), a four piece EP featuring the vocals and acoustic guitar of Sophie Wonfor to provide a hope and serenity hard to find in a weary world.

Humours – “Little Harm”

This is true comfort music right here. The newest single from Humours, Little Harm is a peaceful acoustic composition with butterfly vocals and introspective lyrics. Bordering the realm of indie and folk, this is a beautiful song for those looking to tug on their stiff heartstrings and produce a few tears.
