Una Rose, Ora Cogan, Holobody, and Dot Cardigan

Una Rose - Myth Between

This is dream-pop at its finest. With lyrics of escape, romance, and change - this EP feels like an emotional metamorphosis happening in real time. The synths, the dreamy vocals, and the tight drums makes this release feel truly cathartic. Each song is easy going, a relic of summer during such a cold season.

Ora Cogan - DYED (EP)

This new EP from Ora Cogan opens with a mysterious, fantastical sound. Reminiscent of medieval folk tunes, the composition in this trilogy of tracks is truly breathtaking. Her vocal delivery is full and rich, adding to the EP’s rustic power. The droning electronics form a foundation that’s built up with guitar riffs and distant drums.

Holobody - III

This Montreal-based ensemble blends eccentricity, chaos, and melody in a way I’ve never quite heard before. These songs take the psychedelic and electronic and interweave them into a blanket of musical comfort. They break genre conventions, sounding like a jam band from space - intergalactic bards, if you will.

Dot Cardigan - Assorted Sounds

This Edmonton-based trio takes inspiration from a variety of sources, from the darkness of Goth to the devil-may-care nature of new wave. They create a mellow sound with heavy undertones. The muffled guitar and powerful vocals give this album a grim yet humorous sound, while the lyrics are emotional and close to the heart.
