Black Ox Orkestar, TJ Felix, The Psychic Alliance, and Dead End Drive-In

Black Ox Orkestar - Everything Returns

Now, I’m not Jewish, but I like to nosh. This newest release from Montreal’s Black Ox Orkestar takes an orchestral approach, deriving inspiration from all sorts of Eastern European folk. With lyrics sung primarily in Yiddish, this only helps to accentuate the album's sublime nature, jazzy and experimental.

TJ Felix - 4TH WORLD PROBLEMS

I really like TJ Felix. Their DIY punk is chaos in auditory form. It’s in your face, aggressive, and even slightly eccentric. What more could you ask for? TJ’s not afraid to venture into unknown soundscapes, giving each song its own unpredictable experience.

The Psychic Alliance - Librevox

With one of the funniest band descriptions, I’ve ever read. However, their new single displays their strong personality in its own way. Alongside a demo and instrumental, Librevox is a catchy rock hit with gorgeous harmonies and a whole lot of passion. Slightly eccentric, sure, but that kind of stuff really butters my biscuit.

Dead End Drive-In - A Worthwhile Endeavour

This ten-piece release from Vancouver’s Dead End Drive-In personifies the heart and passion of punk rock. Gritty vocals, some really nice harmonies, and their motto “Gotta shred with existential dread”, makes for an album bound to touch the heart of everybody’s inner punk. Oh yeah, they’ve also got three guitar players. What?!
