Castle If, L CON, Species Traitor, and Nicole Dollangager
Castle If - Drivin’ Easy
This new release from Toronto’s Castle If is an addition to their Imaginary Soundtrack collection. Releasing new instrumentals every month, this album is called jazzy orchestral grooves. Each of these seven instrumental tracks features a variety of the album's namesake, providing a little bit of everything, depending on your mood.
L CON - SOUNDMILL improvisations
This new album from Toronto’s Lisa Conway is sixteen tracks long. Some tracks are less than a minute, while some are sixteen minutes long. These tracks are improvisational and form a transfixing soundscape that will leave you enthralled in its ever changing nature and expansive form. This album takes a variety of approaches, each of which you’ll find quite enchanting.
Species Traitor - Species Traitor
This ten-track release from Vancouver’s Species Traitor takes a DIY approach, being recorded onto a Tascam tape machine. Their music is that kind of lethargic indie rock that really gets my rocks off, bringing me back to memories of chaos on sunny days. This kind of music really brings me back.
Nicole Dollangager - Married in Mount Airy
This album is beautifully haunting. Nicole’s vocal range alongside such gothic instrumentals makes for twelve tracks that will take your breath away. Each song is a real tear-jerker, bound to reach your heartstrings and leave you an emotional wreck. Writing this, I am in tears. This album is a hidden gem.
