Best Of 2022 Schedule

As 2022 rapidly comes to an end, the Cups N Cakes Network will be going back in time to revisit some of our favourite releases from the past year.

In 2022, our team of incredible volunteers grew to over 35 strong and between them, they published over 200 “Pick Of The Week” album reviews and nearly 200 short-form “Quick Pick” reviews. They did over 110 premieres, highlighted over 50 music videos, conducted multiple interviews with some of Canada’s biggest names in independent music, including Daniel Romano, Charlotte Cornfield, Art d’Ecco, Boy Golden and more!

Factor in the acts played on our Radio Show and the Cups N Cakes Network helped well over 1000 independent Canadian artists with some type of coverage.

We are pretty darn proud of that!

The Cups N Cakes Network’s growth turned out to be very necessary because 2022 saw an immense amount of truly incredible releases. I don’t think I can remember an October with so many incredible releases… the team is still trying to catch up! But it’s not just the quantity of releases, it’s the quality of these releases that has us beaming with pride for the various musical hubs across this vast nation. Compiling our end of year lists is never an easy task and this year seemed particularly difficult to pin-point who we wanted to make our lists but after much deliberation, the Cups N Cakes Team came to a general consensus on these categories:
