Premiere: BRASS - Winning Hand
Aside from a 2019 single, Vancouver punk band, BRASS have kept us eagerly waiting for a follow-up to their fantastic 2018 album For Everyone. Today we are very happy to report that the band has an EP in the tank, set for future release through Early Onset Records. This forthcoming EP was recorded at Vancouver's Rain City Recorders with Jesse Gander and today we are very excited to share its first single, “Winning Hand.”
Not only does the single mark their first new song in two years, it also marks the band's first release since the additions of bassist Kennedy Pawluk and guitarist Zach Mouallem. A chugging bassline guides the band as vocalist Devon Motz bellows about the twisted dynamics of priveledge with a Viagra Boys like swagger.
The track arrives as BRASS kicks off a short western Canadian tour that will have them stopping in Lethbridge on Oct. 28th, Calgary on Oct. 29th, and Edmonton on Oct. 30th before finishing things off with a hometown show at the Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver on Nov. 5th.
[Editor’s Note - The band will be joined by Dead Fibres for the Alberta shows. Last week we also premiered a brand new Dead Fibres song to help kick-start this small string of shows.]
