Premiere: Paris Pick - "Hope For The Best"
One of the coolest things about the growth of the Cups N Cakes Network has been expanding into new geographic regions of Canada. Three years ago, I might have been stumped when asked to name some acts from the Yukon… now all I want to do spend a vacation up there listening to the incredible acts on display. From the art-rock of Cryptozoologists, to the Americana swagger of Whitney K, to the funkadelic stylings of Major Funk; Whitehorse, Yukon has got it going on!
This particular premiere today solidifies the fact that on a “per-capita” basis, no city has a stronger music scene than Whitehorse. Today we are very excited to be premiering the first single from Paris Pick’s forthcoming album, Hope For the Best.
Paris Pick has been winning over audiences in the Great White North since 2013 and Hope For The Best will mark her sophomore release. The first single is a title track and veers in a different direction than the funkier, R&B pop of her debut album, Feeling Love. The track is a blast of perfect guitar-pop, perhaps too catchy for its own good. We are very excited to be premiering this single in the form of a video created by the Bullen Brothers; the video honours the beloved local establishment, Epic Pizza (2012 - 2019) and features Paris Pick having to bail on a party to deliver pizzas only to find herself delivering her final pie of the night to the residence housing all her pals. Let the party begin and let “Hope For The Best” be your soundtrack for said party.
