Premiere: Contrafact - “Furious”

The Cups N Cakes Network is excited to premiere a track from Saskatoon based rap/hip-hop act, Contrafact (aka Connor Newton). The single is from his just-announced EP Vices, due out on April 2nd 2021.

“Furious” is the second track on the EP, and it’s ripe with Newton’s trademark jazz-infused hip-hop, with a ferocious live band backing him up. The song deals with the frustrations and anger that arose from living through the COVID-19 pandemic, and was written and recorded in isolation over the past year. It features a cast of musicians from many of Newton’s many other projects, whether it be collaborators from his hundreds of jazz performances across Canada, or members of Saskatoon pop band Bombargo, in which he plays tenor saxophone.
