Premiere: Will Scott - "Contexture"

Edmonton’s Will Scott has gained notoriety in Western Canada as giant within the “experimental music” heading and the many genres it encompasses. Currently a member of the improvisational trio Pigeon Breeders, his own Will Scott Band and having spent time in famed bands of Edmonton’s past - The Wicked Awesomes! and Brazilian Money - Scott has developed a strong underground following for anyone that veers away from the conventional ideas of music.

We are very excited to announce a new solo album from Scott entitled, Paintings, will arrive on March 19th through Edmonton imprint - Mangled Tapes. The record expertly melds ambient, drone, jazz, post-rock and other styles. Said to be an exercise in “function follows form,” Scott pre-recorded countless pieces and loops in his home and pieced the various tracks together after amassing a palette of sounds. Like a painter, he then used that palette to craft this gorgeous piece of art.

Today, we are very excited to share the advance single, “Contexture,” in the form of a video created by fellow experimental champion, Parker Thiessen.
