Premiere: Cassidy Waring - Leaving
Although two years have passed since we last heard from Vancouver’s Cassidy Waring, we haven’t forgotten about the incredible four singles that she released in a four month span at the end of 2019. Her voice is a conduit of seasoned emotion, soulful and raw and most importantly… real. Back in 2019, we made her song “Nostalgia” a Quick Pick with Jeshaiah David stating:
“Nostalgia is the new single from Vancouver’s Cassidy Waring and it will definitely give you that special feeling of inhabiting good times gone by. This folky track is a heartwarming breath of fresh air with old friends. It’s something you just can’t help but get a little nostalgic about.”
We followed that up by premiering the song “Leaving” and we are happy to be coming full circle today by premiering the video for the track we first introduced in November of 2019.
Waring spent her time in isolation truly coming to grips with the emotions she was evoking throughout the song. The video shows the emotional and physical state that Waring has been inhabiting over the past year. Stating that the isolation brought forth unresolved issues, Waring dove deep into the history of her family and childhood to uncover as much as she could about the unravelling of her family.
The song comes from her debut album, Lonesome Reunion, which is slated for release in November 2021.
