Premiere: Nigel Young - Don't Fly Away

Vancouver musician Nigel Young has cut his teeth in numerous bands including Cups N Cakes favourites, The Intelligence Service and RAG. The past few years have seen Young breaking away on his own, crafting impressive psych music at breakneck speed with four albums arriving in a 15 month span that included two solo efforts and two collaborative releases with Eric J Breitenbach.

Today we are very excited to introduce our readers to Nigel Young and announce that his third solo album, Cruel Lessons, will be arriving later this year. The record was actually recorded at the same time as his sophomore album, Frog Hound, in the winter and spring of 2021 with the help of Eric J. Breitenbach at The Spot Studio.

Today, we are excited to premiere the first single, “Don’t Fly Away,” a track that explores themes of regrettable loss in a somewhat uplifting, yet unstable way as it stomps along with its fuzzed out indie sound.
