Single Premiere: Wolf Willow - Holloway
Cups N Cakes favourites, Wolf Willow, are coming off a fantastic 2021 that saw the release of Old Guitars & Shooting Stars. An effort that we placed on our “Honourable Mention” list for the best albums of that year. Cups N Cakes founder compiled that list and said this about the record:
“Perfectly emulated classic sounds make this release exude elegance with an effortlessly cool attitude. This year Wolf Willow further developed their classic Countrypolitan aesthetic while casually tipping their caps to surf and psych.”
Today, ahead of their performance at Sled Island 2022, we are very excited to share their first release since Old Guitars & Shooting Stars. The release is called Holloway and it is a two track effort from a large sprawling soundtrack project which celebrates the landscape of southern Saskatchewan. It features orchestral sounds of trumpets and strings that are layered over spaghetti western guitar and pedal steel. Wolf Willow has truly perfected those sounds which is why we love this act so much.
Wolf Willow will be playing this years Sled Island Music Festival on Friday June 24th at 8:30 on the main floor of The Palomino.
