Single Premiere: Steel Saddle - Can’t Be Satisfied

Steel Saddle is a brand new six-piece Canadiana band formed by Austin Boylan and Mackenzie Sawyer. The two met while playing in different bands in Montreal. Austin was playing in Pottery while Mackenzie was a member of Paul Jacobs live band. The two formed Steel Saddle in 2020 and along the way the lineup has grown to include Coleman Canton, Nic Power, Benjamin Vallee and Charlie Zucchero.

Steel Saddle focuses hard on seamlessly blending musical styles such as folk, rhythm and blues, country, and soul. The approach to the band was greatly influenced by innovators like Gram Parsons and Ray Charles, who provoked the ideologies and expectations of their audiences and the music industry by embracing the cross-pollination of musical stylings.

Today the Cups N Cakes Network is very excited to premiere Steel Saddle’s very first single. The track is called “Can’t Be Satisfied” and it was self-recorded and produced live off the floor. Blending of rock and folk rhythms, country arrangement, gospel instrumentation and introspective lyrics, the single is an impressive debut from a new band that needs to be on your radar.
