Video Premiere: Mad Ones - Live At The Bathouse

The Cups N Cakes Network is excited to premiere a live mini-concert video from Toronto garage rockers Mad Ones. The band blasts through four songs in ten minutes at the Tragically Hip’s legendary Bathouse Recording Studio in Bath, Ontario, with a tasty 8mm-esque vibe to the whole production.

The band starts off with the wild, untamed energy of their September 2022 single “Hydra Head” before moving on to a couple of songs from their fourth LP, released November 2021, Last Forever. They finish off the short but sweet set with their 2018 single “In Silence”. Throughout the set, guitarist Andrew DeVillers’ eardrum-rattling guitar tone works hand in hand with bassist Russ Fernandes’ ‘beat the shit out of my bass’ technique, and Jesse L. Bellon’s drumming, which is somehow both incredibly precise and loose at the same time, to create the feeling that you’re watching a bomb that is currently in the process of exploding.

Mad Ones are bringing incredible performances like these to Ontario and Quebec later this month, with shows in Ottawa on April 21st at the Avant Garde Bar, and in Montreal on April 22nd at Barfly with Cups N Cakes friends Danny Laj and the Looks. Their new single “What It Takes” came out on March 24th, and is available to purchase here.
