Video premiere: New Wales - Not Reading Minds

The Cups N Cakes Network is excited to host the exclusive premiere for the new music video and latest single from Winnipeg band New Wales, led by duo Sandy Taronno and David Pankratz. The single will be released on Friday, April 7th, and is part of the band’s first full length record Big Same, due out on April 14th.

The album was recorded at Argyle Studios with the band's long-time collaborator and bandmate, Rusty Matyas (Imaginary Cities, The Weakerthans), who served as co-producer, with the majority of the tracks recorded live off the floor. David jumped behind the drums, Sandy grabbed a bass, and Rusty and Matthew Harder (Spirit of the West) held down the guitars. The band aimed to maintain a live feel to the bed tracks, and the studio, located in the north end of Winnipeg, provided the perfect setting for the band to create and occasionally tussle with an uninvited raccoon. The end result is an album that is polished yet raw, cohesive yet pleasantly disjointed, and serves as a showcase of the band's musical maturity and songwriting prowess.

The music video will be out on Friday, April 7th, and keep an eye out for New Wales debut record Big Same, out one week later on April 14th.
