Video Premiere: Sophia Sanford - Ocean Island

Today, the Cups N Cakes Network is excited to share a music video for the lead single “Ocean Island” from Sophia Sanford’s upcoming EP Generation Having Fun, due out March 31st. “Ocean Island” is a reflection on the state of our social systems, and the struggle to find hope in the midst of despair; it will be out on all platforms on March 24th, 2023.

Generation Having Fun is a deeply personal project that Sanford describes as "a letter to and from the past." The EP is a reflection on her journey as an artist and the growth she has experienced through collaboration and allowing others to contribute to her creative process. Says Sanford:

"I see how hard I worked to make this project happen, thinking I had to do it alone. But only through letting other people in and giving space for their creativity to affect the work did this project really become meaningful to me in a deeper way. Despite its initial existence as a place to capture and hold my fury and heated disappointment of the time, Generation Having Fun has come to be imbued with an unrelenting hope that I am so grateful to have found."
