Yung Heazy, Teenage X, Nap Eyes, and Blake Pinder
Yung Heazy – Quit your Job!
This EP is a psychedelic, chill quadrant of songs that evoke feelings of blissful lethargy in its jizz jazz-y sound and self-deprecating lyrics. It takes a light hearted approach towards ideas like heartbreak and quitting your job, allowing the listener to find comfort in the troubles of life.
Teenage X – The Point Of Everything
Taking a new wave approach to punk, The Point Of Everything is a four track EP that uses visual and musical aesthetic to take us back to the days of our misspent youths through a timeless sound that could bring back those memories in both a millennial of the 90’s and a zoomer of the late 2000’s.
Nap Eyes – When I Come Around EP
Oh yeah, it’s a Green Day cover. Nap Eyes takes this 90’s punk classic and reinterprets it as a folk song, complete with those lap steel guitars reminiscent of country and Hawaiian music. The EP also features a Bonnie Raitt cover an unreleased original and an EDM remix from Time XL. An Excellent EP for kicking back and relaxing.
Blake Pinder – Nervous Brain
Nervous Brain is a selection of folk songs from Blake Pinder, recorded in his bedroom. This aids in the lo-fi, D.I.Y aesthetic of the album, which is apparent both in the album's cover art and the folk-punk sound. The lyrics' contradictory use of tongue-in-cheek sincerity encapsulates the record's theme of a Nervous Brain.
