From Calgary-based hip-hop duo Dragon Fli Empire (Teekay and DJ Cosm) comes their newest effort, To Be Continued / Inspiration, with the two songs named respectively. Cosm’s jazzy instrumentals and Teekay’s low register rapping evokes lost memories of old school hip-hop, further accentuated by the French bars from their featuring artist in “Inspiration”, Gassam.

Montreal-based alternative country band Chacal delivers their newest EP, Hardly Workin”. The debut EP from Prince George singer-songwriter Karl Wyssen, May Long, is a comforting series of four indie tracks that, like the albums titular weekend, takes a cool and calming verse and reinvigorates it with warm, passionate choruses, symbolizing the heat in the air and the liberation of the summer that was to come.
Charlie PS – “Ghost of You (Acoustic)”
“Ghost of You (Acoustic)” is, you guessed it, an acoustic version of Charlie PS’ previous single of the same name. The track takes country, blues, and a sprinkling of classic rock, and interweaves it with Charlie PS’ gritty, haunting vocals to form a track with powerful instrumentals and bleak themes of death and loss that have become a staple of blues music.
