Pleasure Craft, Kitty Prozac, TCOSS, and Lisa LeBlanc
Pleasure Craft - Walls, Mirrors, and Windows
This new release from Toronto’s Pleasure Craft is truly a genre defying piece of work. A unique blend of rock, industrial, post-punk, and pop, this experimental group has a sound all on their own. These twelve tracks feature lush vocals accompanied by a variety of sound both soft and loud.
Kitty Prozac - None Shall Be Afraid
What a debut! Opening with “Jesus Was A Trans Girl”, the debut album from Vancouver’s Kitty Prozac is ten tracks of punk badassery with lyrical themes of struggling with coming out and coming of age with the hopes that this album connects with others who are in the same struggle. It’s emotional and iconic through her poetic lyrics and memorable riffs.
TCOSS - Winter
From the Calgary-based indie band TCOSS is their second full length album, Winter. This shoe gaze-y release features an experimental indie sound that takes inspiration from the likes of David Lynch, Black Mountain, and Big Thief. These fourteen tracks make the three years between their albums well worth the wait.
Lisa LeBlanc - Chiac Disco
French funk will always hold a special place in my heart, and Chiac Disco is no exception. This bilingual release from New Brunswick’s Lisa LeBlanc is a vibrant ten piece funk exploration with hints of jazz and folk. This album is guaranteed to bring a bit of light to these dark days.
