Clea Anaïs, Anchoress, APB & LTL, and bRavenous

Clea Anaïs - Circle Zero

From Calgary multi-instrumentalist Clea Anaïs is Circle Zero, an eleven track release that features a unique take on pop music through its roots in funk and psychedelia. While some songs such as the first track “Decisive and Divine” is a song more in tone with contemporary pop, the sixth track “FA Anthem" has a tighter composition with a rap-esque vocal delivery.

Anchoress - Stay Positive

Opening with a heavy bass and a fuzzy background, this nine track release from Vancouver’s Anchoress immediately establishes itself as a punk powerhouse topped with a delightful incorporation of melodic screams, complex drum patterns, and reverberated guitar riffs. Stay Positive is a classic blend of hardcore, punk, and emo bound to move the hearts of those with an ear for aggression.

APB & LTL - NoooDs

Here’s an interesting concept: gathering inanimate objects from friends and using them as inspiration for an album’s worth of songs. This is what APB & LTL did with their release NoooDs. Recorded from their homes in Canada and Scotland, this is an enchanting release with soft vocals and angelically groovy synthesizers.

bRavenous - Ghosts of Rockingham

Nova Scotian hip-hop artist bRavenous blesses us with his newest album, Ghosts of Rockingham. This album features bRavenous’ superb flow and lyrical complexity, which explores themes of distant memories and revisiting the past with a new perspective. This passion project of an album is the closest thing we have to time travel.
