Jenny Berkel – These Are the Sounds Left from Leaving
Down tempo beats, a soft winds section, and a reverberated guitar form the sound of Jenny Berkel’s newest album. Her full, deep vocal delivery adds a haunting aspect to the album, which is driven home through lyrics of lost love and the somber days of grief. It’s a heartfelt album bound to break your heart.
Claudia Bouvette – The Paradise Club
Bringing the bubbly sounds of pop to the indie scene is Claudia Bouvette, a Montreal-based musician with a knack for catchy choruses, memorable lyrics, and a funky sound. A funky bassline, a variety of interwoven keys, and an eye for the awe inspiring, this is an album to be remembered.
The Fake Friends – Good Enough
The Fake Friends is a group of real friends that make some tongue-in-cheek rock n’ roll, and their newest album is no exception. With songs such as “I Want Billy Corgan To Sue Me '', it’s easy to see the light comedy that they bring to their superbelicious take on alternative rock.
Éemi - Two Lips Pt. I by Marie-Clo x éemi
Saskatoon’s Éemi delivers a new EP, the first in a series of albums entitled Two Lips. Now although I don’t speak French, that doesn’t stop me from diving deep into their melancholy brand of bedroom pop, down tempo and melodic. Being a big fan of concept albums, I’m excited to see what the next part brings.
