Kee Avil, Larynx, Kitz Willman, and Dual Nature
Kee Avil - Crease
Crease is the imaginative debut album from Montreal-based producer and guitarist Vicky Mettler, under the moniker Kee Avil. These ten tracks will take you to a vast, organic, and fragmented world. Her soft vocals accompanied by her range of guitar compositions makes for a hauntingly beautiful album and a powerful debut.
Larynx - Applaudissez, bande de chameaux
With electronica, funk, psychedelia, and everything in between, this new release from Montreal's Larynx is seventeen tracks of indie pop rock greatness. Despite me not knowing French, their catchy choruses and dreamy vocals have my ears intrigued nonetheless. For those who enjoy nice vibes, I can’t recommend this album enough.
Kitz Willman - Dental (those boots) [loosie]
From Winnipeg is Kitz Willman, delivering us an experimental of hip-hop, electric jazz, and eccentricity in his new single. The song opens with a clicking beat before breaking into bass, sharp tones, and Kitz’ unique vocal delivery, which constantly shifts to the styles of rappers like MC Ride and Sir DZL. It’s catchy as all hell.
Dual Nature - The End of History
Edmonton’s Dual Nature drops The End of History, an album recorded back in the last weekend of 2019. It’s got a garage rock sound to it, with strong bass lines, a gliding guitar, and lyrically packed songs, sometimes delivered at mach speed. Its somber sound perfectly accentuates its apocalyptic aesthetic.
