Video Premiere: Chris Page - "The Disaster Drop"
Chris Page has been a part of the Canadian music scene for over two decades. From his time in the successful punk group, The Stand GT, to Camp Radio’s power-pop, to the sludge-pop of Expanda Fuzz; he has built a impeccable reputation for his song craft and relatable lyrics.
As great as those projects are/were, perhaps his best work has come in the form of the stripped down folk he creates under his given name. 2015’s Volume Vs. Voice was one of our favourite albums of that year but it was never followed up as he went full steam ahead with Expanda Fuzz.
Today we are happy to report that a follow up to that spectacular 2015 album is finally on the horizon. On September 30th he will be releasing Decided To Stay And Swim Again. This album is an acoustic reimagining of 2003’s Decided To Stay And Swim. Stripping back those songs gives it an entirely different feel and arguably elevates it above its original form.
We here at the Cups N Cakes Network are very happy to premiere the music video for “The Disaster Drop”. Enjoy!
(pssst. remember… this Friday Bandcamp waives their fees. Consider supporting Canadian artists like Chris Page)
