Premiere: ASSAULT CHARGE - MAGIC BULLETS

Today we are stoked to tell you about a new and exciting collaborative project called ASSAULT CHARGE. Longtime pals Eamon McGrath and Jacob Audrey Taves (best known as Holzkopf) would often dream of working together but could never find the time. Enter the coronavirus pandemic and a window finally opened for the two to make an album together.

McGrath has become known as one of the hardest working people in the Canadian music scene. His impeccable song craft has earned him countless accolades as one of the country’s most gifted writers. Mostly known for making music that blends Americana and punk, he has teamed up with one of Canada’s most lauded experimental producers in Holzkopf whose music is totally fried. He uses electronics to create wild soundscapes that are attention grabbing blends of noise, dub, and breakcore

Today we are very excited to premiere the duo’s second single as ASSAULT CHARGE. The track is called “MAGIC BULLETS” and it arrives today in the form of a video from Parker Thiessen - a gifted designer, filmmaker, and musician from Edmonton Alberta. The song begins with layers of electronic sounds before settling into a realm that could be described as industrial, dance-punk and the emergence of McGrath’s vocals. It finishes by building into a cacophony of expertly crafted madness as McGrath repeats the chorus over and over. The video features a wash of colours and textures over the faces of McGrath and Audrey Taves.

This is a project you will want to keep an eye on, their debut album is called Fuck Around And Find Out, and will arrive (hopefully) later this year.
