Premiere: Quinton Barnes - Arouse

Toronto’s Quinton Barnes has not slowed down one second since the world screeched to a halt due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic. He has shown us that it’s possible to break out without touring. In March of 2020 he shot onto our radar with his debut album, AARUPA, then quickly followed it up in January, 2021 with a fantastic sophomore effort titled, As a Motherfucker. We quickly fell in love with that album naming it a “Pick Of The Week” and seeing the track “Switch” hit number one on our Spotify Top 40.

Today we are very excited to announce that Quinton Barnes will be dropping another album in 2021!

The record will be called For the Love of Drugs and is expected to arrive independently in October. This new release will see Barnes’ eclectic sound expand even further as the effort will draw more inspiration from hip-hop, funk and hyperpop.

Along with our announcement of the upcoming album, we are ecstatic to be premiering the first single from For the Love of Drugs. The track is called “Arouse” and is described by Barnes as a “slick, sensuous R&B song.”
