Deanna Petcoff - To Hell With You, I Love You

This ten piece release from Toronto’s Deanna Petcoff starts with a quick paced drum beat, angelic synths, and a growing guitar strum, immediately establishing itself as an indie rock album unfolding with delightful intricacy and nuance. The soft guitar riffs accompany Petcoff’s vocals in such a complimentary way that it’s easy to get lost in the melody.

evan j cartwright - bit by bit

What a powerful debut. From Toronto’s Evan J Cartwright is bit by bit, an eleven track collection of art folk excellence. With lyrics that are quotable, introspective, and at times existential, this album offers comfort through its eclectic sources and calming tone. It provides a beautiful sense of melancholic serenity.

Seum - Blueberry Cash

Seum is a trio from Montreal that provide the masses with a fascinating approach to doom music - ditching the guitars. Their newest EP is a 420 inspired trilogy of tracks made as a break from their upcoming full length album. Their heavy, hardcore, and with those awesome gutturals, it’s hard not to head bang (even with short hair).

Abigail Lapell - Stolen Time

This is the newest release from two-time Canadian Folk Music Award winner, Toronto’s Abigail Lapell. After listening to Stolen Time, it’s easy to see how she’s earned such accolades. These eleven songs contain empowering compositions and Lapell’s soft vocal delivery and mystical melodies. It’s a must listen for the warming weather.
