Strange Attractor, Alaskan Tapes, Tribunal, and The Four of Cups

Strange Attractor - Good boy Bad Boy

This release from Sudbury’s Strange Attractor is punk at its core. This is a behemoth of an album with a total of eighteen tracks, each of which is guaranteed to kick your ears ass with their muffled overdrive, their shrieking vocals, and a general sense of playful aggression. This album also has an appearance from the singer of The Chats.

Alaskan Tapes - Who Tends A Garden

Bandcamp user mobidextrouslikes describes this album as ‘taking my ears (and soul) to a spa’, and after listening to this magnificent album, I completely understand. Each of these nine tracks explores a garden's metaphorical and literal meaning, both in an auditory and physical sense. It’s ambient, explorative, and calming for the mind.

Tribunal - The Weight of Remembrance

This Vancouver duo has released their debut album, a seven-piece set of orchestral gothic doom metal, containing lyrics of judgment and despair. With classically trained musicians and subtle homages to metal from years prior. This album is perfect for anyone who likes the vocal range, from blood-curdled screams to harmonic calls.

The Four of Cups - Instant Suffering

This is a six-track release that epitomizes experimental metal. The album still displays that ambient and explorative vibe that’s familiar with the avant-garde, but with an unsettling and unfamiliar foreboding structure, perfectly contrasting the comforting vibes on the other side. Overall, this album is more an experience than something to bob your head with, and it’s an experience you won’t want to miss.
